While some basketball players have pre-game rituals, Kiyan Anthony has a pre-game eating habit. Son of the legendary NBA player Carmelo Anthony, Kiyan plays for his father's AAU team named Team Melo. In a video uploaded by Overtime on Oct 19, Kiyan Anthony is seen working out with Paul George and No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa as they pose for a picture with his father.

The video shows Team Melo players before the game as Kiyan Anthony snacks up on a burger. His cousin Mekai talks about the routine and shows some concern for Anthony's pre-game eating habits:

"We ain't eat nothing we woke up late and stuff like that now the sandwich eating right now only energy going to need for like the whole day that's all he eat Chick-fil-A and cheeseburgers," said Mekai. (6:17 - 6:26)
"He not supposed to be doing that, though they got chicken sandwiches down here and stuff like the healthy stuff, and he went to go get Chick-fil-A so might he might catch something." (6:37 - 6:47)

However, Kiyan Anthony explains his pre-game eating habit, saying that it is unhealthy to be playing on an empty stomach:

"It's bad to play on empty stomach so I had to eat had a little Chick-fil-A sandwich and I was good after," Anthony said.

Team Melo lost their game against GA Stars 64-63.

Kiyan Anthony is the No. 34 ranked player nationally. He also ranks at the eighth spot in the shooting guard position and at the first spot in New York.

The four-star recruit from Long Island Lutheran High School played in the Nike EYBL and posted averages of 19.6 points and 4.6 rebounds.

In a match against Pro Skills Elite on May 18, Anthony racked up 28 points on 50% shooting from the three-point line.

When will Kiyan Anthony decide on his college?

According to On3, Syracuse (his father's alma mater), Florida State and USC are the top three programs that have the highest chance of recruiting Anthony.

In a conversation with 247Sports, Anthony revealed the timeline of his decision:

"I'm trying to commit the first week of November," he said. "At this point, I'm just looking for my finalists to apply the ultimate pressure. Each of these schools text me, but I want them to let me know where I can fit in within the school, who else is coming at my position, and what they see for me.

Do you think the Middle Village, New York native will follow in his father's footsteps and play college basketball for the Syracuse Orange?
