Auburn snagged an excellent player in the 2025 cycle in four-star safety Anquon Fegans. The Thompson High School (Alabama) standout made an incredible late-game defensive play for the Alabama All-Stars in their 35-29 win against the Mississippi All-Stars on Saturday.
Fegans' interception from a long pass sealed the 38th Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic for Alabama at Hancock-Whitney Stadium in Mobile. This was Alabama's fourth straight win in the All-Star series.
247Sports' Tom Loy was in attendance at the event and praised the future Auburn star, saying:
"He once again was terrific this week. It's been good, man. I mean, the biggest thing about him, I think, is the versatility; you can play him on the boundary. You can also play him in the deep third. He can slide down playing the nickel a little bit. I love that. He's always around football."
Loy also commended Fegans’ ball production and his ability to perform against high-level competition. He also noted that he is a player capable of contributing early at Auburn.
Fegans has been committed to Auburn since July 29 and officially signed on Dec. 4. He is the No. 63 player in the country, the No. 6 safety in the 2025 class and the No. 3 player in Alabama, according to the On3 Industry rankings.
Anquon Fegans joins fellow Thompson High teammates, defensive lineman Jared Smith and punter John Alan McGuire, in Auburn's 2025 class. The class ranks No. 6 in the nation and No. 4 in the Southeastern Conference with 25 signed players and four transfers: offensive tackle Xavier Chaplin, quarterback Jackson Arnold, running back Durell Robinson and punter Hudson Kaak.
Anquon Fegans raves about Auburn's potential
Auburn's 2025 class was hit with multiple decommitments due to a lackluster season with a 2-6 record in the Southeastern Conference and a 5-7 record in the nation. However, prospects like Anquon Fegans kept full trust in Hugh Freeze's vision.
"I will tell you, we're going to win more than we did this year," Fegans told Montgomery Advertiser earlier this month. "Coach Freeze doing a tremendous job recruiting the right guys. This 25 class going to be special."
Anquon Fegans will enroll early in January, and he will join a talented safety room that includes Caleb Wooden, Jahquez Robinson, Terrance Love, Kaleb Harris, Sylvester Smith, CJ Johnson, A’mon Lane-Ganus and Eric Winters.
