Oregon's Dillon Gabriel may have been named a Heisman Trophy finalist last Tuesday, but his little brother, Roman Gabriel, is grabbing plenty of attention in another sport, basketball. Max Preps says that Dillon's brother plays for Mililani High School, Hawaii, and is now a senior guard there.
This has gotten many fans commenting, complementing Roman Gabriel for his moves. Others pointed out that the Hawaiian combo guard has always been a great player who could score over 30 points in a game.
"HE’s LIKE THAT!!🔥🔥," one person said.
"@roman.gabriel.3 is the real deal! He put up 35 pts the other night!" one commenter pointed out.
Meanwhile, others commented that much like his big brother, Dillon, Roman Gabriel is left-handed too.
"all Hawaiians left handed bruh 😭," said one commenter.
"Damn are they all lefties?" asked another commenter.
"And he also LEFT HANDED😭😭," another added.
Meanwhile, Roman Gabriel himself appeared on the comments section and thanked MaxPreps for featuring him on their post.
"Appreciate the love @maxpreps," wrote Roman Gabiel.
The younger Gabriel brother may already be a high school senior, but he remains unranked and unrated by the big scouting sites, such as On3 and 247Sports.
He does have several college offers already, including San Joaquin Delta College, Fisher College, Toccoa Falls College, Southwestern Christian, Regent University, Carolina University and more. He is one of the best scorers in the state of Hawaii, averaging 19 points per game.
Dillon Gabriel's brother Roman Gabriel had a record-setting game but lost next one
During a game against Altamonte Christian, which happened last Friday, Roman Gabriel had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. This includes six taken behind the arc.
This also broke the record for "Most points in a game in Mililani High School history," with the Trojans winning 67-49.
However, in the very next game, Mililani lost a tough one to the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls, 60-55. This snapped the team's four-game winning streak, and this was thanks to the performances of the Owls' Logan Mason and Darius Chizer.
Mason had a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds, while Chizer had 22 points in the ball game. This drops the Trojans to a record of 6-3, while the Owls improved to a record of 7-1. Roman and his team get the chance to bounce back on Thursday, as they take on Kealakehe High School.
