Hoops fans reacted to an insider’s assessment of Bryce James's basketball abilities. ESPN’s Paul Biancardi was complimentary of LeBron James' son's abilities and suggested the young player had great potential.

A post on Sportcenternext on Instagram shared an excerpt from Biancardi's analysis on the Arizona commit in his 2025 ESPN 100.

“As he continues to develop, his recent growth spurt and enhanced athleticism have elevated his potential. He makes the right reads and decisions on the floor. His defense is improving along with his physical tools and basketball IQ,”

However, fans did not agree with what Biancardi said, with many saying James has not shown he has the tools to be rated so highly.

“If his last name wasn’t James would he have the same assessment?,” a fan said.
“Bro even get minutes on his HS team??,” another said.
“Just let him naturally mature as a player. Hope LeBron doesn’t make a call to secure him an honorary spot on McDonald’s All American team.,” another fan said.

“Elevating your potential w/o even playing…oh yeah where have I heard this before? 😂😂😂,” another fan echoed the same sentiment.

“He’s slow , awkward and very very weak . He does nothing . He can’t even start in high school,” a fan with a damning assessment of James’ game.
“Paul Biancardi use to be credible🤦🏾‍♂️, “ another fan said.

Bryce James heading to Arizona

James may have a lot of doubters right now but he can prove them wrong when he heads to Arizona for college basketball. The Sierra Canyon guard announced on New Year’s Day that he has committed to the Wildcats for college basketball.

The son of Lebron James chose Arizona ahead of Ohio State, where he was born. James’ Arizona commitment is also a stark contrast to his brother, Bronny James’ route. Bronny played for USC for one year before being drafted by the Lakers.
