Trayvis Hunter, the younger brother of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, has announced his third college offer. The class of 2027 wide receiver shared the update on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
“Blessed to receive my 3rd college offer from Georgia State University,” Hunter tweeted.
It was the third offer announcement the 15-year-old had made within a week. He announced his first college offer from Tennessee State on Dec. 16. He followed it up with a second offer on Tuesday from Jackson State.
It is an impressive start in college recruiting for Trayvis Hunter. His brother Travis flipped from Florida State to Jackson State when Deion Sanders coached the Tigers. The Tigers, coached by T.C. Taylor, are one of the country's most prominent HBCU programs.
Similarly, the Tennessee State Tigers are also in the capable hands of former NFL running back Eddie George. Trayvis stands at 5-foot-7 and weighs 140 pounds, with a high ceiling for growth. The Effingham County (Georgia) wide receiver caught 36 passes for 496 yards and six touchdowns this season.
His last four games saw him make 19 receptions for 331 yards and five touchdowns, contributing to Effingham County’s 6-4 finish.
Travis Hunter’s influence on his brother, Trayvis Hunter’s career
Trayvis Hunter has his brother’s footsteps as an example to follow. Travis Hunter was the No. 1 prospect in his class.
Despite an initial commitment to Florida State, the standout two-way star was convinced by Coach Prime to sign with Jackson State, a less prestigious program. The decision which seemed an expensive gamble at the time has turned out to be one of the most positively referenced in modern college football.
His recent Heisman triumph has more than justified his faith in Coach Prime’s leadership, which also saw him move with him to Colorado. In addition to his success on the field, he has acquired substantial value with NIL, with a worth estimated to be around $5.7 million (according to On3). He has deals with several brands including Greenwood and Michael Strahan’s brands.
Travis Hunter was also featured on the cover for EA Sports College Football 25 with Donovan Edwards and Quinn Ewers.
Besides Travis, Trayvis also has their dad, Travis Hunter Sr., as an example to follow. The elder Travis played in the Florida Football Alliance and the Southern States Football League. He won the Sothern States Football League’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2007, setting the pace for his sons to follow.
