Things remained steady at the top of the High School Football 300 national rankings after another round of exciting action across the country. The top five teams retained their spots from the previous week. No. 1 Mater Dei (California), No. 2 St. John Bosco (California) and No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Nevada) all sealed decisive wins against top 50 teams.
Mater Dei beat Hawaiian side Kahuku 38-7 in an impressive performance that saw quarterback Dash Bierly throw for two touchdowns. The Monarchs, now with three wins in as many games, will face St. Francis Academy (Maryland) next. St. Francis Academy will try to bounce back from a 28-24 loss to Duncanville which saw it drop two places from No. 11 to No. 13. Meanwhile Duncanville climbed up a step to No. 6.
No. 2 St. John Bosco also secured a 56-16 victory against No. 49 Serra. The Braves remain undefeated in four games as they prepare for their next game against Pittsburg (California).
Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman returned to winning ways after its loss to Mater Dei, handing Orange Lutheran a 55-28 loss. Orange Lutheran consequently dropped to No. 12 from its previous No. 10 spot.
This week is shaping up for another exciting round of matchups with Mater Dei and St. Francis facing off within the top 25. Other matchups within the top 25 will see No. 14 Venice playing No. 16 Cocoa and No. 22 St. Edward facing No. 25 Massillon Washington.

IMG Academy drops 1 spot on High School Football 300 rankings despite win
IMG Academy is perhaps the most surprising drop on the high school football 300 ranking in Week 4. The Ascenders recorded a 57-0 blowout over Mt. Zion Prep Academy. Wide receiver Eric McFarland had a standout performance, returning a punt for a touchdown and having three touchdown catches. Notwithstanding, IMG dropped from No. 6 to No. 7, highlighting the importance of the opponent's strength in the ranking metrics.
