Kansas Jayhawks signee Darryn Peterson displayed another stellar outing, this time totaling 29 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals for Prolific Prep against the Winston-Salem Christian National Lions on Saturday. Slam HS posted highlights of the Canton, Ohio, native on Instagram.
Some hoops fans took to the comment section to post their reactions, wanting to see Peterson, ESPN's No. 2 overall recruit, and No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa, who is uncommitted, play together.
"Him and Aj at Kansas could be tuff," commented a fan wanting AJ Dybantsa to join Peterson at Kansas.
A fan was not happy about Peterson not being the first pick: "The fact he’s not the number one player is disrespectful!!"
Another fan wished that Dybantsa and Peterson played together: "gotta appreciate greatness when you see it. Peterson, boozer and dybantsa could not be at the no. 1 spot obviously but the future looks bright. hope dybantsa also chooses Kansas so we can see the best on the court."
Other fans commended Peterson in the comments section.
"He best in nation lol," a fan commented.
A fan compared Peterson to former Duke and current Baylor guard Jeremy Roach: "I’m getting Jeremy Roach vibes 😮. #Duke #thebrotherhood."
Another fan compared Peterson's game to five-time NBA All-Star Donovan Mitchell: "bro's game kinda look like donovan mitchell."
The consensus five-star recruit ranks at the first spot in the shooting guard position and in California. He had offers from Ohio State, Kentucky, Kansas State, USC and more before he chose the Jayhawks.
