No. 1 ranked senior AJ Dybantsa showed why he is considered the best player of his class during the Iverson Classic in New Jersey on Saturday. The five-star small forward had a monster game against Ohio's Western Reserve Academy, scoring 41 points in a 97-71 win.
Dybantsa had 41 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and one block in Saturday's win. Fans took to social media to react to the game.
"Him & coop are going band for band today, that’s crazy," one fan said.
"I want to see him versus Arenas," a high school hoop fans said. He was referring to five-star recruit Alijah Arenas, son of Gilbert Arenas.
"Man I think him and Cooper really be looking at each other stats😂😂🔥," one Instagram user wrote.
Fans compared him to Cooper Flagg, the previous No. 1 ranked player in the country, who is now playing for the Duke Blue Devils. One fan even compared Dybantsa to a current NBA player.
"First Cooper Flagg now AJ, definitely need to see them go head to head❤️🔥," one fan wrote.
"That’s Brockton born and raised," another fan said.
"He’s a more polished A Wiggins in HS, better 3 ball, same vibes though," an Instagram user wrote.
Dybantsa, who signed with BYU late last year, has had a stellar season so far with the Utah Prep Athletes, getting victories over the likes of Oak Hill Academy, Link Academy, and Brewster Academy to lead his team to a 16-4 overall record and 4-1 regional record.

AJ Dybantsa and the Utah Prep Athletes competed in two games at the Iverson Classic, and his 41-point performance against Western Academy came just a day after he dropped 31 points on Patrick School who have a 12-3 record. In a close game, Utah Prep escaped with a 78-73 win.
The No. 1 ranked player from the Class of 2025 dropped a total of 72 points in two games and was named as the Player of the Game in both games. The team is currently second in the Grind session - Pacific region, behind Prolific Prep of Napa Christian Crew.
