"His father raised him wrong": Hoops fans react to Rutgers freshmen Dylan Harper's rapid fire

No. 3 recruit Dylan Harper became Rutgers' second five-star commitment after Steve Pikiell's team secured the services of No. 2 recruit Ace Bailey in the Class of 2024. Harper verbally committed to the Scarlet Knights on Dec. 6, 2023.

In an Instagram reel posted by the famous basketball page 'Slam', Harper was seen playing the rapid fire game. The 2024 Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year gave his opinions on the best NBA player of all time, the best team of all time and more.

However, the fans were not happy with his answers and took to Instagram's comments section to react to the video:

"His father raised him wrong," commented a fan.
Another fan was not happy with his answers and commented, "Such a shame with these young kids."
This fan thought that the new generation of basketball talent are not aware of basketball history, "Your asking these questions to a child that don't even know his basketball history."

On the other hand, there were also fans who gave their opinions on the questions, suggesting that he snubbed his father:

"I thought he was gonna say his Pops Ron Harp 🫡🏀💯🔥was tough he was Mike Jordan level before injury. Ny Knicks was gonna trade for Ron Harp before Jordan and bulls grabbed em hating on #Knicks 🔥🏀💯," a fan commented.

"Why do they keep saying Love & Basketball? That movie was low key weak for a hoop movie 😂", commented another fan.
This fan also commented about Dylan Harper not naming his father, "He was suppose to say Ron Harper for best defender lol."

How good was Dylan Harper in high school?

The Ramsey, New Jersey native attended the Don Bosco High School. In his senior year for the school, Harper averaged 22.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per contest to lead them to a 29-3 record and the NJSIAA Non-Public A state championship.

In the AAU Circuit, Harper played for New York Renaissance and averaged 19.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists in the Nike EYBL Circuit.

Harper won three accolades in 2024, which were the Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year, McDonald's All-American Game MVP and Jordan Brand Classic MVP. Harper will now start his freshman year with Rutgers. How well do you think he will perform for Pikiell's team?
