Four-star offensive lineman Tavaris Dice flipped his commitment from Auburn to Florida's 2025 class on Saturday. The standout from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, had been committed to Auburn since March 14.
Florida initially finished as the runner-up for Dice’s pledge last spring, but the Gators never stopped their pursuit. He made an official visit to Gainesville on Nov. 16, where he watched the Gators secure a 27-16 victory over LSU in The Swamp.
Gator fans have been buzzing about the program's recruiting surge.
"Holy shit billyy," a fan said.
"We on a heater," one fan said.
"Billy is on fire," another fan said.
Here are some more reactions from fans.
"UF is cooking 🧑🍳 best of luck 🦅🧡💙," one fan said.
"UF is on one right now," one wrote.
Meanwhile, Auburn’s 2025 class took another hit with Dice’s departure. The Tigers have now lost three offensive linemen this cycle, including Carde Smith and Spencer Dowland.
"Another L for Hugh 😂 😂," one wrote.
With Dice no longer in the 2025 class, Auburn is left with 26 committed players, ranking No. 5 in the nation and No. 4 in the Southeastern Conference. The cycle has four offensive linemen committed and just one offensive tackle in four-star prospect, Broderick Shull.
What does Tavaris Dice's commitment mean for Florida?
Tavaris Dice is the fourth-highest-ranked commitment of Florida's 2025 class. He is the No. 192 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 18 offensive tackle in the cycle and the No. 26 player in Georgia. His commitment will boost the Florida offensive line that will lose only one starter, Brendan Crenshaw-Dickson, after this season.
Dice’s commitment is part of a red-hot recruiting streak for Florida, as four-star edge rusher Jayden Woods flipped from Penn State to the Gators just a day earlier. Florida has now secured 10 commitments in November.
Four-star running back Byron Louis flipped from Florida State, while four-star linebacker Ty Jackson decommitted from USC to join the Gators. Billy Napier's program also landed four-star quarterback Tramell Jones and added three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers, offensive tackle Jahari Medlock and wide receiver Muizz Tounkara.
Florida's 2025 class now features 11 blue-chip prospects, ranking No. 15 in the nation and No. 9 in the Southeastern Conference. He joins top-100 recruits in four-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III and four-star cornerback Ben Hanks Jr.
