Four-star wide receiver Jerel Bolder stands out as the highest-rated prospect in NC State's 2025 recruiting class. The standout from Forest Hills High School committed to Dave Doeren's program in June and has been vocal about his desire to team up with another top recruit, four-star safety Jordan Young.
Young, who attends Monroe High School, was among the first players to receive an offer from the Wolfpack. Bolder expressed his enthusiasm for joining forces with Young, saying (via On3):
“He brought it to my attention first, so hopefully he can join me."
Young is set to announce his commitment on Nov. 2, and the in-state Wolfpack are among the frontrunners for his services. After a visit to NC State last weekend, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine shows a 93.2% chance of Young choosing the Wolfpack, with Clemson at 1.9%, Florida State at 1.1% and Michigan trailing with less than 1%.
Young is ranked the No. 205 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 19 safety in the 2025 class and the No. 5 recruit in North Carolina, per Rivals.
As of now, NC State's 2025 class boasts 17 committed players, placing them at No. 48 nationally. It has three-star safety Tristan Teasdell committed to the cycle.
Jerel Bolder remains "loyal" to NC State amid push from other programs
Jerel Bolder has emerged as a standout talent during the spring and summer camps and gained attention from various Atlantic Coast Conference schools in North Carolina. However, he reaffirmed his commitment to NC State, saying (via On3):
"I'm loyal."
Following his commitment to the Wolfpack, Bolder seemed to be impressed with the overall environment in the school.
"The players at NC State took me in like a brother, the coaches always made me feel like a priority and NC State feels like home," Bolder told On3.
Dave Doeren was in Marshville on Oct. 4, and the prospect also cherishes the hope of playing under the coach in his college career.
“I am excited to play for coach Dave Doeren,” Bolder said. “He pushes his guys. He makes his guys earn everything they get. I like that about him. He has a great attitude and he is going to push me.”
On3 ranks Bolder as the No. 218 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 34 wide receiver in the 2025 class, and the No. 8 recruit in North Carolina.
