Why did Isiah Harwell choose Houston?

With offers from 24 programs, Isiah Harwell took two visits to Houston before committing on Sept. 12. His unofficial visit was on Sept. 3, and his official visit was on Aug. 22.

"Houston was very consistent recruiting me during my injury and rehab," Harwell told ESPN in September. "On my visit it was a family atmosphere. I got to spend a lot of time with the players, and we ended up sitting around and they were talking [about] how they all arrived at Houston. Their culture is real."

He also talked about coach Kelvin Sampson.

"Coach Sampson is a cool dude," Harwell said. "He knows what it takes for players to reach the next level, we talked about that.

Harwell will be joined at Houston next season by Chris Cenac, Kingston Flemings and Bryce Jackson.
