Jordon Davison, a four-star running back from Mater Dei High School, had a fantastic senior year, leading his team to an unbeaten record of 13-0 and the Open Division State Championship. He was also named the 2024 MaxPreps California High School Football Player of the Year for his outstanding season.
Davison finished his senior year with 1,233 yards and 19 touchdowns on 176 carries in 12 games, as per MaxPreps. He ended his high school career with 50 rushing touchdowns and 3,597 yards on 477 carries. His incredible performances saw him commit to the Oregon Ducks in June this year.
MaxPreps' Instagram page shared a post about their Players of the Year from the top four states: Texas, California, Florida and Georgia. The page also highlighted the stats of these players, but Davison's stats had a major flaw in the post.
The high school sports website showcased just three touchdowns instead of his total of 19 touchdowns, and fans were quick to point out the mistake.
"3 rushing tds…?" one fan said.
"Yoo how did the dude for cali only have 3 touchdowns this year and get player of the year," another fan wrote.
"how do you only have 3 rushing td’s.." another fan commented.
Jordon Davison's yardage was on point, but his touchdown total had fans confused about his overall production this year.
"Davison had 19tds this year. Great job Max preps way to fact check," one fan wrote.
"3 rushing tds…," another fan commented.
"3 tds is crazy," another fan wrote.
Jordon Davison is ranked No. 240 in the country and is the 16th-best player at his position in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the 19th-best overall recruit in the state of California.
Jordon Davison signed with the Oregon Ducks on National Signing Day

He spoke about the program and had high praise for its coach, Dan Lanning.
"They’re a team on rise. And I have a chance to play early over there and contribute to a national championship," Davison said, as per On3. "He probably the coolest head coach I have met so far. He is for sure gonna win the national championship and he for sure is going to have the players and the coaches to do it."
