Five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola, from Blue Valley Northwest High School in Kansas, committed to Michigan's 2025 class on Monday. His commitment also follows Sherrone Moore's program securing two other recruits in the past week.
Among those thrilled by the news is four-star quarterback Brady Hart, Michigan’s star recruit for the 2026 class. While speaking with 247 Sports’ Brice Marich, Hart shared his excitement, saying,
"I'm pumped for the program! Huge momentum swing for our recruiting classes. Great player and awesome person!"
During his junior year, Babalola has shown significant growth, especially in his block-finishing abilities.
According to 247 Sports' Gabe Brooks, Babalola has the physical and athletic traits expected of a high-major starter. His talent and skill set position him as a potential immediate starter on the Wolverines' offensive line next season.
For Hart, Babalola’s commitment signals the potential for a powerful partnership on offense when they eventually take the field together. Hart is having a standout junior season and has thrown for 2,259 passing yards and 21 touchdowns in just seven games.
Hart's performance has earned him the distinction of being the only Michigan commit to be named a MaxPreps Preseason All-American. He is ranked by Rivals as the No. 63 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 9 recruit in Florida, and the No. 5 quarterback in the 2026 class.
Michigan's recruiting class update following Andrew Babalola's commitment
Andrew Babalola is now the highest-ranked recruit in Michigan's 2025 class, which rose from No. 16 to No. 12 in the nation. It has been three years since the Wolverines landed a five-star prospect like Babalola, who is the first five-star commit since landing Donovan Edwards in 2020.
With Babalola on board, the Wolverines now boast 17 committed players in the 2025 class, which includes a solid lineup of three offensive linemen. Joining Babalola are four-star Avery Gach and high-three-star Kaden Strayhorn.
Besides Andrew Babalola, Michigan holds commitments from multiple blue-chip recruits like safety Ivan Taylor, safety Kainoa Winston, tight end Andrew Olesh, cornerback Jayden Sanders and wide receiver Andrew Marsh.
