Five-star recruit Meleek Thomas ranks first in his state, second in his position, and third regionally. He is No. 9 in the 2025 ESPN 100 Recruiting Database and boasts a 94 scout grade.
Thomas also has received five stars from On3, ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals. However, when he was interviewed by 247Sports' director of scouting Adam Finkelstein, he talked about what he did not accomplish in his first season.
"[3:00] My first year I didn't accomplish anything as a freshman as a freshman so it's like and I already have such a high standard to hold my name to I had whatever rank I had which doesn't matter to me but it's still like I got dreams and goals that I want to set and Achieve so after that it was like yeah it's never happening again," Thomas said on Monday.
Thomas left Lincoln Park Performing Arts High School in June to join Overtime Elite and became the highest-ranked recruit to do so. In an interview with ESPN, Meleek Thomas shared the reason for his move:
"I did everything I needed to do where I'm from," Thomas said in June. "We won back-to-back state championships. Now it's time to be seen by NBA personnel, GMs, scouts, the people that you need to be in front of. At OTE they get your name out. Everything they do goes around the world. I want to be broadcasted more."
Meleek Thomas now has a major decision to make as he will choose from several offers he has received. Last season with Lincoln Park Performing High, Thomas played four games and averaged 19.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals.
In the Nike EYBL, Thomas scored 20.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg and 2.4 apg for the New Heights Lightning.
