Five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet instantly filled USC's quarterback room in the 2025 class, which was left void following five-star quarterback Julian Lewis' decommitment. Longstreet is a local Southern Californian prospect, and he is now targeting local recruits for the Trojans, including 2026 class five-star athlete Brandon Arrington.

Arrington was in attendance for a 28-20 win over Nebraska inside the Memorial Coliseum alongside Longstreet last weekend, and the duo developed a good bond.

"I actually started to get close with him," Husan Longstreet told SI. "I've seen him a lot of and did not expect to see him at the USC game, but I seen him there, so we're just kind of chilling. And then once I committed, he had text me the eyes emoji, like he's gonna do it next. So we'll see about that. I think that's a close one that would be we should get to.”

Arrington is the nation's No. 1 athlete in the 2025 class, per On3 and ESPN. He is the No. 2 recruit in California and No. 8 overall prospect in the nation, according to On3. If USC can keep the in-state prospect, it will be a big boost to its 2026 class, which ranks No. 4 in the nation with six recruits.

According to On3, Texas A&M is the leader in Arrington's recruitment with a 93.5% chance of securing his commitment, while USC has a 1.9% chance. However, Lincoln Riley and the USC coaching staff, as well as prospects like Husan Longstreet, can push him for the potential commitment to the Trojans.

Husan Longstreet also aims to recruit Jahkeem Stewart

Five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart is one of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the 2025 class, and he is also one of the major targets of Husan Longstreet.

“We still gotta recruit some of these guys, a big one we’re looking at is Jahkeem Stewart right now," Longstreet told SI. "We got a few o-lineman we’re trying to recruit. I feel like this class is gonna be really big.”

Stewart is the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 1 recruit in Louisiana, according to Rivals. He was the top prospect in the 2026 class before reclassifying to the 2025 cycle.

LSU is the leader in Stewart's recruitment with a 67.2% chance of securing his commitment. However, On3's Steve Wiltfong reported that Michigan is "making a late move" for him. The Wolverines' late push came after successfully flipping five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood from LSU.
