Carrollton High School quarterback Julian “Ju Ju” Lewis continues to build a phenomenal legacy in high school football. He has already been recognized as a five-star quarterback prospect and is the face of high school football in Georgia.
In just two seasons, Lewis has amassed 7,212 passing yards, 96 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Admittedly, he wants to work harder to be a better version of himself.
Lewis shared a heartwarming message on X to highlight his dedication and his gratitude towards his coaches.
"I’ll never be perfect but I can always get better… #TrustGod #KeepWorking," Lewis wrote, tagging head coach Joey King and quarterback coach AJ Barge.
2023 was Lewis's sophomore year, during which he earned several accolades including the MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year award and the Region Offensive Player of the Year. He recorded a 66.4% completion rate for 3,094 yards, 48 touchdowns, and only two interceptions. His efforts helped lead Carrollton to the quarterfinals of Georgia's AAAAAAA playoffs.
The previous year, Lewis was named MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year after spearheading Carrollton’s journey to the AAAAAAA state title game. He had a 65.5% completion rate for 4,118 yards and matched his sophomore touchdown total of 48, though with 12 interceptions. He also received Region Offensive Player of the Year honors that year.
What are the potential destinations for Julian "Ju Ju" Lewis?
The top-ranked prospect in the 2025 recruiting class had committed to the USC Trojans in August 2023. However, his recruitment journey remains open.
Lewis has scheduled an official visit to Indiana for the first weekend of June. His long-standing relationship with Indiana’s quarterbacks coach, Tino Sunseri, might give the team an edge in his recruitment.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are strong contenders for Lewis as well. They have hosted him numerous times, and his comfort level with the university might just change his mind.
“All the feedback has been good,” Alabama insider Tim Watts said. “To be clear, this is a guy that’s pretty comfortable at the University of Alabama. He’s visited off and on over the years, so there’s not a lot to learn as far as the city, the campus and all that kind of stuff."
Besides that, Lewis' former teammate Caleb Odom, now a freshman at Alabama, could influence him to join the team. USC will host him on June 7th and he will be at Auburn on June 14th and Colorado on June 21st.
