Deleted scenes from the Slam Summer Classic Vol. 6 were released on Friday, with one of the scenes showing Kiyan Anthony describing to fellow hot prospect AJ Dybantsa his encounter with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
“I had a weird moment with him," Anthony said (Timestamp: 1:58.) "I walked past Adam Silver. My pops (Carmelo Anthony) dapped him up. Bro, you know when you try to dap somebody up, and then somebody give you the fist bump? I did that with him, bro. I felt mad uncomfortable.”
Kiyan Anthony, being the son of a 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony, gets to meet highly placed individuals in the world of basketball. Kiyan stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 185 pounds, with all the physical attributes of a classic guard. Yet, he has an incredible growth ceiling with the potential to reach in the next couple of years. He stars for Long Island Lutheran High School in Middle Village, New York, after moving from Christ the King High School in Queens.
Kiyan Anthony's college decision
Kiyan Anthony is one of the most highly recruited prospects of the 2025 class, with offers from powerhouses including Syracuse, Florida State and USC. As one of the top prospects of the class, his commitment to one of these programs is highly anticipated And speculation is rife on where he'll likely end up.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine predicts Syracuse as his most likely choice with a 93.7% probability. Florida State is second favorite with 2.7% with USC following closely with 2.3%.
Meanwhile, Kiyan Anthony has set the date to announce his commitment. On3 reported that he is set to announce his choice between Auburn, Syracuse and USC on Friday.
Although Auburn entered late into the race to sign him, it has been in touch with him for some time. He acknowledged their interest in an interview prior to their offer.
“Coach (Ira) Bowman reaches out to me every other day," Anthony said. "He checks on me and a few of my close friends are over there, Tahaad (Pettiford) and Jahki (Howard), and they tell me about it. I’m looking forward to them throwing the offer so I can go take the visit.”
The offer eventually came.
