Kiyan Anthony and Carmelo Anthony are often spotted together at games. Being one of the most famous father-son duos in basketball, Kiyan is frequently asked questions about the 10x NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony.
In a recent video posted by "League Ready" on YouTube, the Middle Village, NY native was asked about his personal favorite moment of his father in the NBA. Anthony chose to mention a couple:
"My personal favorite moment, I got a couple. I would say when he scored 62 in the Garden (Madison Square) and I say when he hit the back-to-back game winners against the Bulls, yeah, St Patrick's Day," said Kiyan Anthony.
"I was at both of those games. So, just being able to see him hit those shots and then him scoring 62 in a rivalry game like that was just crazy, even though I was too young to really understand what was going on, I still got, you know, 62 is 62 (2:47 - 3:14)."
The No. 34 prospect in the Class of 2025 is yet to make a decision on his collegiate career. Anthony ranks at the ninth spot in his position and first in New York.
In the Nike EYBL, the Long Island Lutheran High School player averaged 19.6 ppg and 4.6 rpg. Furthermore, he produced another remarkable performance on May 18 against Pro Skills Elite as he scored 28 points while shooting 50% from beyond the arc.
Anthony was also up against the youngest son of LeBron James, Bryce James, in the EYBL as Team Melo locked horns with Strive for Greatness. Anthony racked up 18 points with four assists while James had eight points and two rebounds. Anthony talked about the relationship he shares with Bryce James:
“There’s a lot of eyes on us. I can’t let Bryce outplay me. We basically grew up together, even though he (Bryce) lived in LA. I really like his family; I see him like my cousin," said Kiyan Anthony in an interview with Overtime.
What's next for Kiyan Anthony?
While talking to 247Sports, Anthony had stated that he would decide on his collegiate career in the first week of November. Yet, there is no news about his commitment. On Nov. 4, Anthony signed a NIL deal with WME Sports.
According to On3's prediction machine, his father's alma mater, Syracuse, has the highest probability of recruiting him (93.7%). This is followed by Florida State (2.7%) and USC with a 2.3% probability.
Do you think we will see Kiyan Anthony follow his father's footsteps as he sets his eyes on college basketball?
