Carmelo Anthony may be considered an NBA legend, but his son, Kiyan Anthony, recently claimed he surpasses his father in the fashion department. During his latest vlog released on the Overtime YouTube channel, the younger Anthony claimed that his "drip game" is better than Melo's.
In the vlog, Kiyan was in Las Vegas shopping for clothes at Culture Kings. He picked up some apparel, including some Marvel Comics T-shirts, then talked about his fashion preferences.
"When I'm going shopping, I'm just looking for stuff that I could see myself in, like baggy jeans, baggy cargos, baggy shirts," he said. "I just try to grab pieces and then put it together." (1:20-1:39)
A staff member then told Kiyan that he might need to style his dad up, too. However, Kiyan confidently answered that he had already beaten his father in terms of fashion.
"Bro, I got better drip than him already," he said.
Kiyan Anthony talks about mom La La Anthony's basketball skills
Kiyan Anthony previously appeared on the Sept. 17 episode of "Sloane Knows NEXT" podcast and spoke about several things, including what it is like to be the son of Carmelo Anthony. During the show, he revealed that basketball talent runs on both sides of his family, as his mother, La La Anthony, played basketball as a guard in high school.
In one of Kiyan’s earlier vlogs, La La even showed off her shooting and layup skills. When asked on the podcast which NBA player he would compare to his mom, Kiyan responded with Jordan Poole.
“She might be like a Jordan Poole… Because she could shoot a little bit, she could dribble, so I’ll say Jordan Poole," Kiyan said (4:25 mark).
La La also claimed that Kiyan picked up some basketball skills from her and that "he didn’t learn everything from his dad."
