The Miami Hurricanes are off to a blazing 6-0 start this season. The program's success on the field has been mirrored by its success in recruiting, as evidenced by its major win in flipping four-star wide receiver Joshua Moore from the Florida Gators on Thursday.

The standout from West Broward High School in Florida initially committed to the Gators in June but had a change of heart after attending Florida's season-opening 41-17 loss to Miami on August 31. Despite claiming to be "100% a Gator" after that visit, Moore was highly impressed by the potential the Hurricanes offer for player development.

"I just felt like that was somewhere I could go and I could thrive, I could be developed — not just as an NFL player but as an NFL star," Moore told Cane Sport.

The South Florida native saw firsthand how Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff are building a special culture in Miami.

"I see that they’re building something special," Moore told Gators Wire. "I see the wide receiver room and I see the wide receivers are producing, so I wanted to be a part of something special.”

This recruiting victory is not the end of the road for Miami. The Hurricanes are still in hot pursuit of highly ranked targets such as five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin, five-star LSU defensive back commit DJ Pickett and five-star Oregon wide receiver commit Dallas Wilson, among others.

What is Miami getting in Joshua Moore?

Joshua Moore projects as a true X receiver at the next level, and he was named 247 Sports' 'Alpha Dog' of the Under Armour Miami Camp. Despite dealing with an injury in his junior year, he has remained highly productive.

In just six games this season for the Bobcats, the wide receiver has recorded 32 receptions, 510 yards and five touchdowns. Over 21 games of his career, he has totaled 100 catches for 1,869 yards and 20 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-4 and 205-pound prospect's athleticism gives him the potential to thrive as a high-upside pass catcher at the college level. His off-the-field character has also garnered attention, earning him a nomination for the CBS Miami Nat Moore Award.

Joshua Moore is ranked by Rivals as the No. 158 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 29 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 29 recruit in Florida. With his commitment, Miami ranks 10th nationally in recruiting for the 2025 class with 22 commitments. He joins fellow four-star wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw in Miami's class and is their 15th four-star prospect.

Miami may look to add a third wide receiver for the upcoming season either through high school recruiting or the transfer portal to bolster its depth at the receiver position.
