Five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho visited Texas A&M this weekend and came away impressed. The Georgetown Preparatory School (Maryland) standout holds offers from virtually every top program in the country, but his time with Mike Elko and his coaching staff has put the Aggies firmly in the mix.
“It was great,” Iheanacho told On3's Steve Wiltfong. “I like Coach Elko. Had a great conversation with him yesterday. I was able to see his vision for Texas A&M football as he was there previously when he was the DC there.”
Iheanacho is the No. 2 overall player in the nation and the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2026 class. Even before his senior year of high school, his physical metrics surpassed those of elite NFL players like Tristan Wirfs and Penei Sewell at their NFL Combine measurements. At 6-foot-6.7 and 348 pounds, he boasts an 86.1-inch wingspan and 36.5-inch arms.
Wirfs, a first-round NFL talent, entered the league at 6-foot-5 with an 80.25-inch wingspan and 34-inch arms. Sewell, another first-round pick, measured at 6-foot-5 with an 80.75-inch wingspan and 33.25-inch arms.
Iheanacho wasn’t the only elite tackle on campus this weekend, as Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, also visited Texas A&M. The Aggies are in the hunt for both players.
Adding one or both players would put Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class in elite territory, which ranks No. 6 in the nation, with 10 committed players. The momentum isn’t surprising, as offensive line coach Adam Cushing signed six offensive linemen in Aggies' 2025 class.
Immanuel Iheanacho plans to take more SEC visits
After concluding his trip to Texas A&M, Immanuel Iheanacho told On3's Steve Wiltfong that he is lining up more visits to the Southeastern Conference programs in the coming weeks.
"You can’t compare much to SEC football," Iheanacho told Wiltfong.
Besides Texas A&M, Iheanacho's top 16 schools feature Alabama, Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Auburn Miami, Oklahoma, Penn State, Rutgers, Tennessee, USC, Oregon and Virginia Tech. He is expecting to trim down his list of schools by at least half by summer.
As of now, On3 gives Penn State an edge in his recruitment with a 25.9% chance of securing his commitment, followed by Auburn (15.4%) and Alabama (13.2%).
