AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2025, is making a name for high school basketball. Destined for greatness in the NBA, he has already mapped out his post-retirement plans. The $2.7 million NIL-valued star (per On3) appeared on "The Field Of 68: After Dark," on August 16, 2023. During the conversation with Jeff Goodman, AJ Dybantsa opened up about recruiting, reclassifying, and his future goals.
While conversing about other things, Goodman zeroed down on the youngster's plans.
"15 years from now, you know, kind of give me your career," Jeff asked.
"My goal, but all said and done, hopefully [to be] a Hall of Famer. Hopefully a championship under my belt. Hopefully, MVP, All-Star, like all the big things," Dybantsa said. (6:40)
Jeff Goodman agreed that a career like that would be impressive. Dybantsa believes, hailing from Brockton, expressed that achieving those milestones would be a pretty huge accomplishment for him. The ace basketball star also revealed one of the things he fancies trying after retiring.
"I'll probably do like a little shack up on TV after another tire I still want to be part of the game," he concluded.
Goodman backed Dybantsa citing his personality and smile make him a good fit for that. He also added that not a lot of kids have the kind of personality AJ Dybantsa has.
In the end, the only men's basketball player to have a deal with Red Bull said his purpose in doing everything is a better life for his family.
When Will AJ Dybantsa Announce His Commitment?
AJ Dybantsa was expected to commit to the college of his choice in February next year. But, on November 13, the youngster told ESPN that he has decided to move his commitment date to late December this year.
"The original plan was to commit in February...If I know where I want to go, why wait? It's probably going to be in December, I feel I will be ready by then." he told ESPN's Paul Bincardi.
Being the top prospect from his class, Dybantsa received tons of offers from the best schools across the nation. However, he has narrowed down the list to Kansas State, Alabama, North Carolina, Auburn, Kansas, and BYU. As per On3, Dybantsa is most likely to commit to BYU with a 68.9% probability.
