Four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman has had one of the most interesting recruitment journeys in the 2025 class. He originally committed to Alabama in September 2023 before changing his pledge to Auburn three months later following Nick Saban's retirement. He later decommitted from the Tigers and committed to the Crimson Tide in March before flipping back to Auburn in July.
However, Colemon is not likely to play with commitment anymore and is "110%" ready to be a Tiger come Signing Day.
"I'm ready to get it over with so I can get up there," Colemon said (via Auburn Undercover). "All of us, the whole class of 2025, get up there and make big things happen at Auburn."
Coleman’s commitment provides a steadying force for Auburn’s 2025 class, which has faced its share of turbulence following back-to-back decommitments earlier this year. However, the addition of four-star quarterback Deuce Knight in early October has injected new energy into the cycle.
The Tigers' cycle also has multiple blue-chip prospects like safety Eric Winters, defensive lineman Malik Autry, edge rusher Jared Smith, safety Anquon Fegans and linebacker Jakaleb Faulk, among others. Despite a disappointing 5-7 record this season, Auburn’s future looks bright as these young talents prepare to bring new life to the program.
Antonio Coleman credits Hugh Freeze for his second-time commitment to Auburn
Antonio Coleman's flip between Alabama and Auburn multiple times could bother any coach, but Auburn coach Hugh didn’t lose hope in him. Freeze never stopped pursuing him even after he committed to Alabama twice and ultimately won his commitment for the second time.
“That’s what I like about him,” Coleman told Auburn Wire. “He’s determined and that’s the type of people I would like to be around.”
Alabama is known for its storied football program and national success, but Coleman isn’t fazed by the comparative lack of tradition at Auburn.
“I want to be part of something that’s being built instead of something that’s already there," Coleman said. “I want to really dominate. It’s just going to be that ‘you can’t block me mentality.’ I want to be one of the best D-linemen to come out of this state."
Coleman is ranked as the No. 162 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 14 defensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 10 recruit in Alabama, per On3.
