Four-star linebacker Kaleb Burns committed to Baylor in July but his recruitment is far from over. The Oregon Ducks extended a scholarship offer in September which led to his visit to Eugene and watched the program's thrilling 32-31 victory over Ohio State.
Burns expressed his enthusiasm for the visit to Dan Lanning's Oregon via Rivals on Tuesday.
"Seeing them win big and then coach Lanning coming and talking to me still applying pressure, that just shows how much I'm truly wanted here in Eugene," Burns said.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound prospect described the game-day visit as “out of this world" and also had a lot of praise for Lanning.
"Coach Lanning, great guy. Probably one of the greatest coaches I’ve ever talked to," Burns said via On3 on Monday.
Burns also noted that the coaching style of Lanning and linebacker coach Brian Michalowski resonated with him.
" I see myself making an impact here in Eugene."
Kaleb Burns is one of four blue chip recruits in Baylor’s 2025 class, which ranks No. 34 nationally with 20 committed players. According to the On3 Industry Rankings, he is the No. 309 overall prospect, the No. 31 linebacker in the 2025 cycle and the No. 45 recruit in Texas.
Can Oregon flip Kaleb Burns from Baylor?
On Monday, predictions by Steve Wiltfong and Oregon insider Max Torres in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine indicated a strong possibility that Kaleb Burns will flip from Baylor as they gave the Ducks a 69.7% chance of securing his commitment.
However, Burns responded to it with a cryptic message on X.
"Predictions are just that, Predictions."
Oklahoma was the frontrunner should Burns flip from Baylor. However, after his official visit to Eugene, the dynamics of his recruitment shifted. Though an immediate flip isn’t expected, the Ducks are now a threat to land him.
Oregon has already received the commitment of four-star defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui and flipped four-star defensive lineman Viliami Moala from USC following the win against Ohio State.
The Ducks' recruiting class for the 2025 cycle is ranked No. 7 in the nation. They have one linebacker, four-star Nasir Wyatt, alongside three five-star prospects: wide receivers Dakorien Moore and Dallas Wilson and safety Trey McNutt.
