AJ Dybantsa is the most sought-after prospect from the Class of 2025, with only seven schools left in the running to receive his commitment.

During his appearance on Paul George's "Podcast P" show on YouTube, the No. 1 ranked overall recruit opened up about what he is looking for in a college.

During the show, host Paul George asked Dybantsa what attracted him to the final seven schools he is choosing from: BYU, Kansas State, Alabama, North Carolina, Auburn, Kansas and USC.

"I mean, everybody thinks you should have the four or five Blue Bloods in there, but I mean I have me and my family, have pillars. Like we need a family-orientated school," answered AJ Dybantsa. "I need a coach that's not gonna sugarcoat. I need the best and fastest development plan. I'm trying to be a one-and-done. I need a winner, a winning organization, and um, I just picked the best seven schools I think fit that." (1:10:01-1:11:22)
"I mean. I'm not saying the other schools didn't have it. I just think those were the best seven," AJ Dybantsa added. "I mean everybody go look at it, like some team was had a better record than this. I mean, I think I can play anywhere. I think my play style, I'm unselfish, I can play with anybody, so I mean, like, it's not really going to matter because I can fit in. But I mean, like I'm just trying to choose a school that's best for me." (1:11:23-1:11:35)

Dybantsa has already visited some of the schools in his final seven but has said that he would not be announcing any commitments this year.

AJ Dybantsa to announce college he is committing to in February

BYU, Kansas State, Alabama, North Carolina, Auburn, Kansas and USC are all schools with top-tier basketball programs. However, the rumors of where Dybantsa is going have been strong, with industry experts predicting that he would go to coach Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars.

On3 predicts that BYU has a 68.9% chance of getting AJ Dybantsa's commitment, as Coach Young had been aggressively recruiting the high school star even before he got the BYU coaching job.

Last summer, when schools were going on overdrive in recruitment, his father, Ace Dybantsa, provided a timeline of when AJ would make his decision. He said that they plan to announce it in February, with the elder Dybantsa adding that they are still talking to the coaches.
