NC State has a big-framed three-star wide receiver in Jamar Browder (6-foot-3 1/2, 205 pounds). The prospect has been one of the most promising players in the Wolfpack's 2025 class, but he is seemingly leaning toward Michigan.
The Wolverines offered Browder on Sept. 25, and he has made the trip to Ann Arbor to watch the Minnesota matchup on Saturday. The wide receiver enjoyed Sherrone Moore's program's 27-24 win in the match and also saw his potential fit in the squad.
"I see myself playing there and being an impact player," Browder told On3. "I think they need some help, and I can help."
Michigan's need for wide receiver depth has become more pressing following the decommitment of Phillip Wright from the 2025 class, who has shifted his commitment to LSU. The Wolverines now have two wide receivers committed in the class, ranking No. 14 nationally.
Four-star prospect Andrew Marsh stands out the cycle as the headliner, while four-star Jacob Washington also adds strength to the class. If Browder decides to flip his commitment from NC State, he can become Michigan’s third wide receiver for the cycle.
Initially, NC State had a stronghold on Browder's recruitment, as he made an unofficial visit to the campus on June 7 and committed just two days later. His early commitment reflected a strong connection with wide receiver coach Joker Phillips.
"The way Joker Phillips was talking, he said he sees something in me," Browder told 247 Sports. "That is what I really need. They are going to give me the platform and all I have to really do is perform to get to the next level. That's my goal."
As of now, NC State boasts 16 committed players in its 2025 class, including two other wide receivers: four-star Jerel Bolder and three-star Arrion Concepcion. The Wolfpack will be keen to retain Browder, but with Michigan's recent push and Browder's statement about the Wolverines, a flip can be on the way.
Jamar Browder's athletic profile
Through four games of the season, Browder has recorded 365 yards and one touchdown. This follows an incredible junior campaign in 2023, where he caught 39 passes for 730 yards and scored 14 touchdowns, helping lead the Santaluces to the regional semifinals of Florida's competitive 4M playoffs.
Browder is ranked by Rivals as the nation's No. 79 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 93 recruit in Florida. 247 Sports places him as the No. 100 wide receiver in the class and the No. 78 recruit in the state. He is a multisport athlete, also excelling on the basketball court. As a 10th grader, he averaged 5.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
