Four-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng is the top uncommitted LB left on the board in the 2025 class. Deion Sanders' Colorado made its pitch to become a priority school on Saturday, as he and his IMG teammate London Merritt visited last weekend during its home game against Kansas State.
Colorado lost 31-28 but Owusu-Boateng was captivated by the electric atmosphere in Boulder. He also expressed optimism about the possibility of playing for the school.
“I see a real opportunity with the Buffs that feels like a great fit for me," Owusu-Boateng said, via On3 on Monday. "Somewhere where I can go and my impact is felt early.”
Owusu-Boateng was hosted by fellow LB Jeremiah Brown, who is currently redshirting. Their interaction provided Owusu-Boateng with insights about the team's culture and the opportunities available for new players. He also shared with On3's Steve Wiltfong that he was impressed with the passion of Colorado fans and the excitement surrounding game days.
"Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng told me that he sees a need for himself to come in there and be an early contributor," Wiltfong said. "And we already know, look, when Colorado's recruiting high school guys, they want you to play in year one."
Colorado's coaching staff is prioritizing Owusu-Boateng as LB coach Andre' Hart visited him during the team's open week to emphasize his importance to their recruiting plans. The program has eight committed players in the 2025 class, including three-star LB Mantrez Walker.
