Notre Dame's four-star quarterback commit, Deuce Knight, has raised the eyebrows of college football enthusiasts with his incredible athleticism. His motivation is also driven by a heartfelt dream of buying his parents a house.

Knight's journey to his promising football career began in his hometown in Mississippi where he established himself as one of the top prospects in the nation. He is ranked as the No. 8 quarterback for the 2025 class by 247Sports Composite and the No. 3 prospect in Mississippi.

Knight's aspirations are rooted in a strong sense of family.

“I would say once I start getting some money – like, NFL money, I know when I get to the NFL, I want to get my parents a house,” Knight told On3 at the On3 Elite Series.

The quarterback also understands the importance of managing his resources wisely, especially during his college years.

“That’s the dream for me. But right now, I’d say the money you make in college, you don’t just want to spend it on something crazy because you don’t know where you’re going to end up or what you’re going to do. I still want to be able to provide for my parents.”

During his junior year, Deuce Knight completed 141 of 265 passes for 2,047 yards, seventeen touchdowns, and only two interceptions. He also rushed for 494 yards and eleven touchdowns on 99 carries. As a sophomore in 2022, he completed 121 of 196 pass attempts for 1929 yards with eleven touchdowns and four interceptions.

Deuce Knight committed to Notre Dame in September 2023. Despite persistent recruitment efforts from other programs, he has remained loyal to the Fighting Irish, driven by the inspiring leadership of head coach Marcus Freeman.

This week, at On3’s Elite Series event in Nashville, the quarterback shared his experiences with national recruiting analyst Phillips Dukes on the "Five-Star Flex" show. When asked about Freeman's influence, Knight revealed the coach's motivational approach.

“Coach Freeman, he always tells me to stay true," Knight said." Coach Freeman will tell you straight up. He doesn’t want guys that other coaches are not coming to recruit. If other coaches are still coming after you when you’re committed, that means you’re a guy."

Knight also values Freeman's straightforward approach and the emphasis on loyalty.

“He always tells me to stay true. I picked Notre Dame for a reason and he always tells me to remember that.”

Offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock also sees immense potential in Deuce Knight. In the same event, Knight shared with J.D. Pickell that Denbrock has compared him to former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was recently selected second overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2023 NFL Draft.
