Jaylen Pile committed to Michigan's 2026 class on Oct. 17 over other schools such as Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. Michigan’s dedication and family-like atmosphere stood out to the four-star wide receiver of Parish Episcopal School (Texas), who has formed strong connections with Sherrone Moore’s staff.

"Michigan was showing love from the very beginning," Pile said on Monday, via Chalupa Batman. "Everyone up there just wants everybody to win, that's really what showed me this is my home now, I want to make my mark and leave my stamp on Ann Arbor."

A key figure in Pile’s decision was Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy, who built a strong bond with the talented prospect and his family. Bellamy’s NFL connection with Pile’s trainer and position coach, Margin Hooks, also played a key role in choosing the Wolverines.

"I had a talk with coach Bellamy and I told him I've been thinking about it for a while and I could see myself playing here and leaving my mark on Ann Arbor," Pile said in October, via Rivals. "He just told me that's amazing and that 'everybody here loves you'."

Michigan also has four-star cornerback Brody Jennings committed in the 2026 class. The Wolverines are looking to secure more blue-chip prospects in this cycle, including running back Javian Mallory, WR CJ Sadler and tight end Brayden Fogle, among others.

What does Jaylen Pile bring to Michigan?

Jaylen Pile has drawn comparisons to Michigan commit Andrew Marsh from the 2025 class due to his elite route running, contested catch ability and willingness to block. Whether lining up in the slot or on the outside, Pile consistently finds ways to impact the game.

Pile excels at creating separation at the line of scrimmage. His natural pass-catching ability and knack for getting open make him a dependable target for quarterbacks. His efforts this season were recognized with numerous accolades, including Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors, first team All-State and first team All-District selections.

Piles is the No. 101 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 73 recruit in Texas, per On3.
