Three-star recruit Ramonz Adams decommitted from the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Monday, handing them a huge blow in their 2025 recruiting class. Adams shared his decommitment decision on X/Twitter, writing,
"I want to start with THANK YOU to Coach McGuire and the rest of TEXAS TECH coaching staff for believing in me, and being a family also giving me more confidence as a football player.
"Also would like to thank the red raider nation for the support and great fan base I wish everyone at Texas Tech nothing but the best. With that being said I will be DECOMMITING from Texas Tech."
Adams was the fifth 2025 recruit to announce his commitment to Texas Tech and has been committed to them since November 2023. His journey from Smithville High School to Bastrop and his subsequent commitment to Texas Tech had generated optimism among fans. His change of heart will now present an opportunity for other programs to vie for his talents.
The On3 Industry Ranking places Adams as the No. 776 prospect in the nation and the No. 124 prospect in Texas. 247 Sports lists him as the No. 64 cornerback and the No. 120 prospect in Texas.
Ramonz Adams' recruitment offers

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane offered him a day ago after receiving an offer from the Washington Huskies, who hosted nearly two dozen recruits for a visit last month. Adams couldn’t attend, as he was on an official visit to Boston College.
