Amari Evans was confident his OTE elite team, City Reapers, could end Eli Ellis’ YNG Dreamerz's winning streak on Friday. The Dreamerz have been undefeated this season, beating heavyweights like RWE and Fear of God Athletics. They were 2-0 in December alone, and their next and highly anticipated clash was with Tennessee Volunteers signee Evans’ City Reapers.
The Dreamerz, led by South Carolina signee Ellis, are brimming with confidence following their dream run in OTE, but Evans was positive his team could defeat them. Evans appeared on the OTE YouTube podcast on Thursday alongside Diamant Blazi, Maleek Thomas and YouTuber D’Aydrian Harding to talk about OTE and the upcoming matchup between the City Reapers and YNG Dreamerz.
OTE's Instagram handle uploaded a clip of Amari Evans from the podcast where the forward was oozing with confidence over the clash.
“Me and Maleek together, we’ve bested a lot of people, like everybody says who can't be beat, so I feel like me and him together, I feel like we’re going to click; we’re going to figure it out,” Evans said.
“I definitely feel like if anybody's going to beat them, it's going to be us for sure,” he said.
The Words of Amari Evans Came True
After Amari Evans claimed the City Reapers would be the ones to defeat the YNG Dreamerz, his words came true on Friday as the City Reapers clinched victory with a narrow 85-81 margin. Although the Dreamerz put up an excellent show, they couldn't break over the balanced efforts made by the Reapers.

The Dreamerz couldn’t recover from their second-quarter slump, trailing the City Reapers 84-77 at one point. In a desperate final push, YNG scored four quick points, narrowing the gap to 84-81. However, Micah Tucker crushed their comeback dreams with a precise free throw in the final seconds, sealing the Reapers’ victory.
