The No. 1 prospect of the Class of 2025, AJ Dybantsa, is heading into the senior year of his high school. The Utah Prep School player became the highest NIL-valued high school player after signing a deal with Red Bull. The 6-foot-9 forward posted some images on Instagram as he gears up for his senior year.
"Im on route, but far away, getting deep in bag..for another day," Dybantsa captioned the image.
The Brockton, MA native, led Team USA scoring 14.1 ppg, 4.1 apg, and 3.9 rpg per contest while shooting 58.7% from the field. While he plays for Utah Prep now, Dybantsa averaged 19.1 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 2.9 apg, and 2.5 bpg per game for St. Sebastian. Moreover, he won the 2022-23 Gatorade Player of the Year.
Dybantsa also led Team USA as they won the FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship. Furthermore, in the FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey, Dybantsa averaged 14.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.9 rebounds with a 58.7% field goal to win the gold medal.
Dybantsa also faced the No. 2 recruit from the Class of 2025 Cameron Boozer, scoring 28 points in a close contest against the Explorers. Utah Prep won 69-68 in a game where Dybantsa converted five 3-pointers in the Border League on Oct. 20.
Dybantsa showed his determination to be a pro when he discussed his career plans with On3, saying he wants to be a Hall of Famer:
“I want to be a Hall of Famer. (To do that, I’ve got to) just keep doing what I’m doing, but at a better rate every time. Every year I’ve got to improve from the last.”
What's next for AJ Dybantsa?
Fans await Dybantsa's decision on his collegiate career. He appeared in the "Podcast P with Paul George" and talked about his career as he faces challenges from other top recruits including Ace Bailey and Cooper Flagg:
"Yeah, I bet on myself. Always bet on yourself," Dybantsa said.
According to 247Sports, Dybantsa has received 30 offers from top programs all across the country. These include BYU, Kansas State, Auburn, North Carolina, USC, Duke, Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, and more.
According to On3's prediction machine, the BYU Cougars have a 68.9% chance of recruiting AJ Dybantsa. They are followed by Kansas Wildcats (13.4%), Alabama (7.1%), and North Carolina with a 2.3% prediction.
