Duke forward Cooper Flagg's twin brother Ace Flagg transferred from Montverde Academy to Greensboro Day School in July. The Flagg twins helped the Eagles to an undefeated season last year. Stepping away from the court, Flagg shared some romantic snaps as he celebrated the second anniversary with Saint Joseph Hawks' center, Lizzy Gruber.
Flagg took to Instagram to post some wholesome pictures of the duo:
The 6-foot-4 center also posted some pictures with Flagg on her Instagram.
"Two years of mailing u love letters💌," Gruber captioned the post.
Gruber shared their first picture together on Instagram in April after which Flagg confirmed the relationship with Gruber.
On the court, Flagg is a three-star recruit who ranks at the second spot in Florida and the 46th spot in his position, according to ESPN. He played in the Peach Jam tournament and posted averages of 14.9 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 2.4 apg while shooting 58.3% from the field and 44.4% from beyond the arc.
On the other hand, Lizzy Gruber played for Gardiner Area High School and earned the 2023 Miss Maine Basketball title, as well as the KVAC Player of the Year and the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year. She was also the first player in Maine history to get her 1,000th rebound before her 1,000th point.
What's next for Ace Flagg?
The 6-foot-7 forward hails from a basketball family. While his brother plays college basketball for Duke, his mother, Kelly Flagg also played college basketball in Maine. According to On3, Ace Flagg holds offers from Maine, Boston College, Saint Joseph's, West Virginia, Florida Gulf Coast and George Washington.
However, their recruitment prediction machine suggests that the Maine Black Bears have the highest chance of recruiting Flagg (22.2%). They are followed by Boston College (19.4%), Saint Joseph's (16.7%) and George Washington (13.9%).
