The No. 1 recruit of the Class of 2025, A.J. Dybantsa is completing his visits before he decides on his preferred college. ESPN has given Dybantsa a 98 scout grade. He has also been given a five-star rating by On3, ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals.
Dybantsa has two upcoming visits, with the Baylor Bears on Oct. 4 and Brigham Young on Oct. 11. He shared some pictures from his official visit to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sept. 27:
"roll tide roll🐘???," he captioned the picture.
The Brockton, Massachusetts, native has taken visits to seven schools - Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Brigham Young, Kansas, Kansas State and North Carolina.
In an interview with ESPN's Paul Biancardi, Dybantsa, the 6'9" small forward, talked about his experiences with the Crimson Tide's assistant coach Preston Murphy:
"I was coached by (current Alabama assistant coach) Preston Murphy as a freshman when I was with Expressions in the EYBL," Dybantsa said. "We spoke with coach Nate Oats and he feels the Brandon Miller comparisons are real.
"I watched Miller in college, he has a lot of Paul George in him. He's one of the better young players in the NBA. If Victor Wembanyama wasn't in the draft, Miller could've been the Rookie of the Year and No. 1 pick in 2023. Their play style fits my game."
Coach Nate Oats doesn't have a commitment from any player yet, but the team has sent out offers to five-star recruits Jasper Johnson and Mikel Brown Jr.
