Jermaine O'Neal Jr. is suiting up for his school, Dynamic Prep, for his senior year. As he gets ready for the season, the four-star recruit, son of six-time NBA All-Star Jermaine O'Neal, shared some images from a photoshoot featuring him in his uniform, wearing the No. 7 jersey.

His father also wore that number while playing for the Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics and the Warriors.

O'Neal Jr. has already committed to SMU, joining Dynamic Prep teammate Jaden Toombs at the Texas-based university. He picked it over Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Vanderbilt and other schools.

On3 ranks Jermaine O'Neal Jr. as the No. 111 player overall from the class of 2025, as well as the No. 9 player in Texas and the No. 25 small forward. His father, Jermaine Sr., spent 19 seasons in the NBA and was named an All-Star six times.

He went directly to the NBA from high school in 1996, being drafted in the first round by the Portland Trail Blazers as the No. 17 overall pick.

Unlike his father, Jermaine Jr. started learning basketball late, but has improved very fast and continues to get better. He has been described as a capable shooter who also knows how to use his length and be a threat on the defensive end.

He is also very strong, and because he is still young, is expected to grow even stronger physically.

Jermaine O'Neal Jr. kicked off SMU's string of recruiting successes for the Class of 2025

On Nov. 9, SMU recruited Houston St. Francis Episcopal star and four-star No. 57 overall recruit Nigel Walls. This is the latest four-star recruit to commit to Mustangs coach Andy Enfield's program over in Texas. This recruiting winning streak all started when he recruited Jermaine O'Neal Jr.

The school was banking on O'Neal Jr.'s commitment to help convince teammate and friend Jaden Toombs, a fellow four-star recruit, to also commit to the Mustangs.

This worked, as Toombs soon became the second 2025 prospect to commit to SMU. A few weeks later, Walls committed to the school as well, placing Coach Enfield's 2025 tally to three.

Jermaine O'Neal Jr. is also friends with Link Academy combo guard Jerry Easter, and his commitment could also help sway the four-star recruit to the school. SMU is the favorite to land the No. 33-ranked recruit too, with On3 listing the Mustangs as having an 81.6% chance of getting his commitment.
