Three-star offensive lineman George Haseotes, from the Community School of Naples in Florida, is steadily catching the attention of college programs nationwide. Having already received offers from several powerhouse schools, Haseotes is on a journey to find his perfect collegiate fit.

Haseotes' latest stop was Michigan, where he participated in the BBQ at The Big House event alongside other prospects.

“It was great,” Haseotes told On3. “They took us around the facilities. We had a lot of meetings. We got in the film room, and we went over how they do their stuff. It was good seeing how they block differently. It was great learning from the national champions. It was a great experience.”

Haseotes worked with Michigan offensive line coach Grant Newsome, who impressed him not only with his coaching skills but also with his demeanor away from the field. Newsome's ability to interact with athletes and teach new talents left an indelible impression on Haseotes.

Haseotes also bonded with new Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore. Despite some skepticism surrounding Moore’s potential to follow the successful tenure of former head coach Jim Harbaugh, Haseotes expressed strong confidence in Moore's abilities. He also lauded the program's recent offensive line achievements.

“You don’t have to say much about it. The stats speak for themselves. I think they had four of five draft picks this past year. They won back-to-back Joe Moore Awards. That speaks to the emphasis of Coach Moore on the offensive line and the emphasis upfront,” he said.

Haseotes has not yet received an offer from Michigan, but he acknowledged that it would be a significant milestone for him. He is ranked as the No. 235 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 3 interior lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 47 prospect in Florida. On3 ranks him as the No. 41 interior lineman in the class and the No. 96 prospect in Florida.

Which program is leading the race for George Haseotes' pledge?

George Haseotes has already received offers from Miami, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, Notre Dame, Stanford and Texas A&M, among others.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Notre Dame has a 40.9% chance of landing Haseotes. This is boosted by his multiple visits to South Bend, both as a fan and a recruit. His most recent visit was on April 13 this year, following an October visit where he witnessed the Irish defeat USC.

Key figures in Notre Dame's recruiting efforts for Haseotes are offensive line coach Joe Rudolph and Director of Recruiting Dre Brown. He has also bonded well with head coach Marcus Freeman.

“He’s one of the best coaches in the country. Listening to him talk and seeing the way he leads is really inspiring. He’s a coach I could go to war for,” Haseotes said via On3.

Haseotes received an offer from the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, but his affinity for the school began long before. His grandfather, George Williams, played football for the program in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Haseotes' mother and one of his cousins are also Notre Dame alumni.

While Notre Dame is the frontrunner, other programs are still in the mix. Florida holds an 18.7% chance of securing Haseotes' pledge, followed by Georgia at 16.1% and Miami at 1.2%.
