Four-star wide receiver Brayden Robinson is one of the top rising juniors in Texas. He has already received offers from multiple big programs, including LSU, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, Auburn, Penn State and Texas A&M, among others.
Robinson has visited several programs, but a trip to Marcus Freeman's Notre Dame remains on his agenda. Carter Auman, the program's assistant to the general manager, reached out to him on June 15th, the first day college coaches could begin directly contacting 2026 recruits.
“He told me I was the first guy they reached out to,” Robinson told On3. “So, that meant a lot to me."
He has been in frequent communication with wide receiver coach Mike Brown and head coach Marcus Freeman.
“They want me to get to campus because when you come to Notre Dame, it’s bigger than just football. You can get a great education outside a great city. So, they’re telling me to look at the big picture." [H/T On3]
Robinson is ranked as the No. 98 wide receiver in the 2026 class and the No. 81 prospect in Texas, as per On3. 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 27 wide receiver in the class, the No. 23 prospect in Texas and the No. 175 overall recruit in the nation.
Adding an offensive weapon like Brayden Robinson will be a huge boost to Notre Dame's 2026 class, which already has Noah Grubbs and Dylan Faison committed. Although Robinson has no planned visits during the one-week quiet period in July, he expressed a desire to visit Notre Dame during the season.
SMU trending for Brayden Robinson's commitment
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, SMU currently leads with a 21.2% chance of securing Brayden Robinson's talents. This positions the Mustangs ahead of major competitors like the Texas Longhorns (18.5%), the Texas A&M Aggies (10.8%) and the LSU Tigers (9.0%).
A big factor in SMU's favor is the relationship Robinson has built with wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator, Rob Likens.
“Just my relationship with Coach Likens,” Robinson told On3. “It’s definitely grown over the years. I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.”
But Robinson’s decision-making process will be deeply rooted in family considerations.
“Finding a place where my family feels happy, where my family feels I'm safe,” Robinson told Irish Sports Daily. "Getting a great education obviously, and just being somewhere where I can develop to be the best receiver I can be.”
As a sophomore, Brayden Robinson recorded 46 receptions for 686 yards and eight touchdowns, while also averaging 30.2 yards per kickoff return and returning one kickoff for a touchdown. He is also an outstanding sprinter, clocking a personal best of 10.89 seconds in the 100-meter dash this spring.
