While people most likely talk about the Boozer Twins, Cameron and Cayden, Jaxon, son of former NBA Slam Dunk champion Jason Richardson, made sure that they also talk about him when it comes to Christopher Columbus High School. During the City of Palms Classic, he showed what he could do.
Jason Richardson was known for his athleticism, and those genes were evident in Jaxon's games against Grayson and IMG Academy, both nationally ranked teams. This has gotten fans talking on Instagram.
"It’s in his blood!" one wrote.
"Just like his pops," another wrote.
"Stunting like his Daddy," another wrote.
Meanwhile, others praised Jaxon Richardson's athleticism during the 16-team bracket tournament.
"'MY GOODNESS,'" one wrote.
"That alley to a pass was fye," another wrote.
"Nah not fr," another wrote.
Richardson played well in both games, even being named Player of the Game in both of them. In Columbus's dominating 85–54 win over No. 3 2026 prospect Caleb Holt and the Grayson Rams, Jaxon Richardson scored 17 points, with three rebounds and three assists during that game on Friday.
He then registered 23 points, three rebounds and two assists on Saturday against five-star 2025 recruit Darius Acuff and IMG Academy. Columbus won that game 77–71.
With their win against IMG Academy on Friday, the Christopher Columbus High School Explorers are now through to the City of Palms Classic finals. They will next face defending Chipotle National champions Montverde Academy on Sunday.
Jaxon Richardson is paving his path in Columbus
The Christopher Columbus High School Explorers are among the best high-school basketball teams. While he often gets overshadowed by the Boozer Twins or even five-star junior Caleb Gaskins, Jaxon Richardson has found a way to stand out.
On Sunday, he spoke with the Tallahassee Democrat about his team's wins.
"I think that's the expectation, to beat good teams because we have a deep roster," Jaxon said. "And we live to that expectation. I feel like we're ready to do it. We work hard every day, so I feel like we can come out and not just meet that expectation but go above it."
During the City of Palms Classic, Richardson averaged 18.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. He also averaged 72% shooting during the tournament.
