Three-star offensive tackle Nolan Davenport did not receive an offer from any college program following his commitment to Wisconsin on June 6. But Sherrone Moore's Michigan broke the streak by extending a scholarship to him on Oct. 8 for the Wolverines' 2025 class.
Michigan is 4-3 this season, but it is also fresh off a championship-winning season. That achievement still casts a strong influence in recruiting circles, and Davenport took note of the Wolverines' championship glory (via 247 Sports):
"It's an exciting opportunity. I know they've won the Joe Moore a lot in recent years and obviously they had a great year last year."
Davenport, from Massillon, Ohio, chose the Badgers over other top contenders Missouri and Penn State after taking an official visit to the school on May 31. While Wisconsin will look to keep him locked in before the 2025 recruiting class becomes official, Michigan can pursue him harder for a potential flip.
Michigan has 17 committed players in its 2025 class, which ranks No. 12 in the nation. This cycle is fresh off a massive commitment from five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola last week. Nolan Davenport may rethink his commitment to potentially pair up with Babalola and other promising commits like safety Ivan Taylor and tight end Andrew Olesh.
Nolan Davenport's athletic profile
Nolan Davenport transitioned from tight end to left tackle last season. The move proved fruitful, as he started every game for his Washington High School (Ohio) that year and helped the program win a state title. He earned second-team All-Ohio in Division II for his performance for the Tigers. This season, the school is 7-2 so far.
Davenport is ranked by the On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 768 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 62 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class and the No. 29 recruit in Ohio. Besides Wisconsin and Michigan, he received offers from Penn State, Missouri, Michigan State, Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, NC State, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky and Purdue, among others.
Nolan Davenport is also a talented baseball player and has clocked a fastball speed of up to 84.8 MPH as a right-handed pitcher.
