Destrehan (La.) High wide receiver Jabari Mack is one of the most highly-touted prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. The four-star player has already received offers from multiple programs, including Texas, Auburn, Florida State, Mississippi State, Oregon, LSU, Miami and Penn State, among others.
The Michigan Wolverines entered the race when their wide receiver coach, Ron Bellamy, offered Mack a scholarship earlier this offseason.
“He came by the school in the winter and then I got the offer after that,” Mack told On3. “We’ve still been talking since then. He keeps telling me that I need to get up there for a visit. I like that he’s from here. He seems cool. He said that he really likes my game.”
Mack has not yet visited Michigan, but he has been impressed by the program's recruitment effort, ongoing success and culture.
“It’s good to see that they are recruiting a lot of players from The Boot. I definitely like that. I was really impressed with them this season. It’s a big achievement to win the national championship. I’m blessed to have an offer from them.”
The Wolverines currently have Florida quarterback Brady Hart committed to their 2026 class. The class ranks No. 22 in the Rivals team ranking.
LSU is trending to earn Jabari Mack's pledge
Jabari Mack is ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver and No. 40 overall recruit in the country and the No. 5 prospect in the state of Louisiana, according to On3. 247 Sports places him as the No. 18 wide receiver and No. 121 overall recruit and the No. 7 prospect in the state.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs were favored to land Mack, but recent updates suggest a shift in momentum toward LSU. According to On3's recruiting prediction machine, LSU now holds a commanding 93.7% chance of securing Mack's commitment, while Mississippi State's chances have dwindled to 3.3%.
LSU has been eyeing Jabari Mack since his early high school days at Destrehan. Mack even made several visits to Baton Rouge this offseason and proved his skills at the program's annual Elite Camp in June.
LSU already has defensive lineman Richard Anderson and wide receiver Jakai Anderson committed to the 2026 class. It ranks No. 17 in the Rivals team ranking.
