Jaylen Williams, a four-star defensive lineman from Palatine, Illinois, has become one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The young star has revealed his top four college destinations after officially visiting programs.
Williams visited Texas A&M after getting an offer from them last year and was impressed by the program and defensive line coach Tony Jerod-Eddie.
“They’re a school that also shows that I’m high on their board,” Williams said last month (via On3). “Coach Tony (Jerod-Eddie) is building something special over there.”
Following the visit, Williams got an idea about his dream destinations and narrowed his list down to Michigan, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
The On3 Industry Ranking listed Williams as the No. 278 overall prospect and the No. 22 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle. 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 153 overall player in the 2025 class, the No.20 defensive lineman, and the No. 5 overall player in Illinois.
Williams was an All-State and All-Conference player during his junior year, while also excelling in track and field, and earning All-Conference honors as a thrower.
Jaylen Williams' upcoming official visits
Jaylen Williams is in Ann Arbor, Michigan, this weekend for an official visit with the Wolverines. Michigan offered him a spot last spring, and Williams has already made several unofficial visits, including attending the high-profile game against Ohio State in November.
The defensive lineman's decision to prioritize Michigan by canceling a scheduled trip to Miami proves his serious consideration of the Wolverines. If any commitments are expected from him this weekend, Michigan seems to be in a strong position, and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) is also showing a favorable trend toward the Wolverines.
Tennessee is another key player in Williams' recruitment, as he expressed strong admiration for their coaching staff. He unofficially visited the Volunteers for their game against Georgia last November.
“They’ve been around for some time so that relationship we built is strong. Coach (Rodney) Gardner and Coach Chop (Levorn Harbin) are some of my favorites out there always checking in on me and my family," Williams said (via On3).
Jaylen Williams has visited Knoxville twice and is scheduled for an official visit on June 14.
Nebraska also holds a special place in Williams' recruitment journey, and his first visit to the program was for their junior day. He toured the facilities and was impressed by the stadium and the overall football program while receiving significant attention from the Nebraska staff.
“Nebraska man, they’re amazing. They send out the whole staff to see your boy like twice already and it’s amazing! Their fanbase is some of the biggest out there. Always in my comments on my posts on Insta."
Jaylen Williams praised the fanbase and also expressed his admiration for head coach Matt Rhule. He will return for an official visit on June 21.
