Hailing from San Francisco, prospect Chris Lawson announced his commitment to the Washington Huskies' 2025 recruiting class. The four-star wide receiver chose first-year coach Jedd Fisch's program over California and Oregon.
Lawson received more than 20 offers, including from Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, Penn State, UCLA, USC and Auburn, among others. His commitment follows an official visit to Washington on the weekend of May 31. Talking to 247Sports, Lawson said:
"With the Washington staff, there is a lot of NFL experience and they really showed me that they want to get as many players as they can to the NFL."
Lawson also officially visited Oregon on June 12 and California on June 14 before giving his pledge to the Huskies.
Chris Lawson began his high school career at Foothills High in Pleasanton, California, before transferring to Archbishop Riordan. The prospect has excelled as both a wide receiver and cornerback, and his Riordan coach, Adhir Ravipati, believes he has the potential to be an All-American type of player.
As a junior last season, Lawson recorded 68 receptions for 969 yards and eleven touchdowns while also notching three interceptions, two pass breakups, 26 tackles and one sack. Over his high school career, he accumulated 167 catches for 2,534 yards and 32 touchdowns.
Lawson also excelled on track this past spring, clocking a 19.96 in the 100m and 22.46 in the 200m, despite it being his first time doing so.
