The Carrollton Trojans will play the Grayson Rams in the Georgia State Championship game on Dec. 18. Both teams registered easy victories in their previous encounters and are just one step away from a state title.
The availability of the Trojans' star quarterback, Julian Lewis, is a doubt. The On3's four-star prospect suffered a hand injury in the Trojans' quarterfinal matchup against the Hillgrove Hawks.
Lewis' injury was the result of a hard hit by Hillgrove's Herman Brister III who also received a targeting penalty for it. The Colorado commit was forced to leave the field and was later seen on the sidelines wearing a cast on his hand. Dylan Bishop took over from Lewis and led Carrollton to an easy 46-6 win.
The win was overshadowed by Lewis' injury as questions were raised about the quarterback's availability for the Trojans' semifinal game against Buford. However, Lewis suited up for the game and led his team to a 30-17 win over the Wolves.
He finished the game with 193 yards and a couple of touchdowns. The four-star recruit is expected to suit up on Wednesday against the Grayson Rams in the Georgia State Championship game.
Julian Lewis signed with the Colorado Buffaloes on National Signing Day
Julian Lewis, On3's four-star recruit was once a USC commit. However, Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes did everything they could to flip his pledge and their efforts paid off on Nov. 21, when Lewis announced his commitment to the Buffaloes.
Lewis received offers from some of the best programs in the country like Georgia, Alabama and Auburn. However, he eventually picked the Buffaloes after visiting the program multiple times, including for their win against Cincinnati in late October.
The Buffaloes had an interesting recruiting year. After a slow start to their recruitment, the Buffs picked up pace down the stretch and signed 14 athletes from the Class of 2025. Lewis is the program's best signee from the class and is one of the Buffaloes' four 4-star recruits, as per 247Sports.
Julian Lewis is ranked No.39 in the country and is the sixth-best player at his position from the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is the sixth-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia.
