Five-star cornerback Dijon Lee announced his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide's 2025 recruiting class on Friday. The standout prospect from Mission Viejo High School now becomes the top-ranked commit in the class.
Lee's recruitment was fiercely competitive, with programs like Texas and Georgia vying for his talents. Alabama targeted him early, offering a scholarship just days after new head coach Kalen DeBoer's appointment.
Dijon Lee made official visits to Georgia, USC and Texas A&M. The Bulldogs captured early momentum after an unofficial visit on March 16. But his final visit to Tuscaloosa sealed the deal in favor of the Crimson Tide. A key factor was his bond with Alabama's coaching staff, particularly with Maurice Linguist, the team's new defensive backs coach.
"The reason why I picked Alabama was because I had a great relationship with all of the coaches and players," Lee said (via 247Sports). "When I went there, I connected right away and it just felt like home."
Dijon Lee also foresees potential room for growth at Alabama.
“Going to Alabama, you will get developed by multiple coaches, you will compete against great players and you will win," Lee told On3.
According to On3 recruiting, Dijon Lee is listed as the No. 30 prospect in the nation, the No. 5 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class and the No.1 player in California. 247 Sports ranks him as the No. 40 prospect in the nation, the No. 4 cornerback in the class and the No. 2 player in California.
Lee recorded 55 tackles, including three tackles for a loss, two interceptions and a sack during his junior season.
What is Alabama's 2025 recruiting class looking like following Dijon Lee's commitment?
Dijon Lee is Alabama's second commitment at cornerback, joining four-star Chuck McDonald, who also hails from California. The program started this month with nine prospects committed to the 2025 class. They now have 10 commitments besides Lee and McDonald, including quarterback Keelon Russell, running back Anthony Rogers, offensive tackle Micah Debose and outside linebacker Dawson Merritt.
The class features several blue-chip prospects, like four-star safety Derick Smith, four-star quarterback Keelon Russell, four-star linebacker Darrell Johnson and four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman.
The influx of commitments throughout June has propelled Alabama to No. 3 in ESPN's team rankings. According to the On3 Sports Composite rankings, they now stand second in the nation for the 2025 recruiting cycle, just behind the Ohio State Buckeyes.
