Four-star edge rusher Ba'Roc Willis decommitted from Alabama on Wednesday. The 2027 class player is an in-state prospect from Moody High School in Alabama and was recruited to the Crimson Tide by outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson.

Willis confirmed his decommitment to 247 Sports and asked for fans to respect his decision on X:

"A love Bama Fam 🖤 please respect my decision."

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound sophomore has been a standout in his sophomore year, recording 95 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 17 sacks during a stellar season that saw Moody finish as the Class 5A state runner-up. He earned first-team MaxPreps sophomore All-American honors and was named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association's 2024 first-team All-State list.

Willis is considered one of the best in the country at his position. He is the nation’s No. 57 overall player in the 2027 class, the No. 9 edge rusher and the No. 4 player in Alabama, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

Just an hour following his decommitment, Willis announced on X that he had added an offer from Miami.

Sources close to Willis have confirmed Touchdown Alabama that he would still consider the Crimson Tide along with Tennessee, Georgia and Notre Dame, among others, moving forward. He has also received offers from Ole Miss, Arkansas Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Auburn, Missouri, LSU and Vanderbilt.

Alabama 2026 class update following Ba'Roc Willis' decommitment

Ba'Roc Willis became Alabama's first commitment in the 2027 recruiting cycle when he pledged to the Crimson Tide on July 30. Following his decommitment, Alabama's 2027 class consists of two commits: four-star edge rusher Jabarrius Garror and unranked wide receiver Alexander Ward.

Alabama continues to face a wave of decommitments across recruiting cycles. Despite these challenges, the Crimson Tide’s 2025 class finished strong with several five-star prospects.

Kalen DeBoer's 2026 class is left with one committed player in four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson. Ahead of his commitment, the Crimson Tide lost the pledges of defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland and interior offensive lineman Zykie Helton, alongside cornerbacks Jamarrion Gordon and Dorian Barney.

Fortunately, some of these decommitted players are still considering Alabama, and DeBoer's next task could be to pursue them to regain their pledges.
