Four-star wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery committed to Florida's 2025 class in August, but his recruitment is far from settled. Montgomery has received over 40 offers, and despite his verbal pledge to the Gators, he has continued to field interest from other top programs, including Alabama.

This weekend, Montgomery will be visiting Bryant-Denny Stadium as Kalen DeBoer's Alabama hosts Mercer.

Alabama has commitments from two wide receivers in the 2025 class: Lotzeir Brooks and Caleb Cunningham. Montgomery can be the next big addition to the room if he flips from Florida.

Montgomery personally compares himself to Philadelphia Eagles DeVonta Smith, who played for Alabama and won two national championships as well as the 2020 Heisman Trophy. So, for Alabama fans, potentially finding another wide receiver like Smith in Montgomery will be special.

However, flipping Montgomery from Florida would be a tough task due to his bonds with the Gators coaching staff.

“I really talk to them all. Coach [Billy] Napier, Coach Billy Gonzales [WR coach]. Really all of them — they’re really great coaches,” Montgomery told On3 following his commitment. “They really care about you — and not only you but your family as well. They always check on my family."

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Florida holds a 94.9% chance of retaining Montgomery's commitment. The Gators 2025 class ranks No. 33 in the nation with 12 committed players.

Naeshaun Montgomery received offer from Washington last month

Naeshaun Montgomery transferred to Miami Central High School from Cardinal Newman in West Palm Beach ahead of his senior season. Despite his commitment to Florida, Washington offered him a scholarship last month.

"Blessed To Receive An ⭕️ffer From @UW_Football @Coach_KC84 @CoachJeddFisch," Montgomery posted on X, tagging Washington head coach Jedd Fisch and wide receiver coach Kevin Cummings.

Montgomery previously released a top 10 of his offers, including Ohio State, Florida, Miami, Florida State, Oregon, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Penn State and Tennessee. Washington couldn’t make it to the list, as the school didn’t offer him that time.

Washington has commitments from three wide receivers in the 2025 class: Raiden Vines-Bright, Chris Lawson and Dezmen Roebuck. The class ranks No. 23 in the nation with 26 committed players.
