No. 34 player in the Class of 2025 and four-star recruit Acaden Lewis made his commitment to the University of Kentucky on Nov. 2. While he will join head coach Mark Pope next season, he continues to display some stellar performances on the court for Sidwell Friends High School.

Lewis led his team to a 58-52 win against the Owyhee Storm in the Hoophall Classic on Sunday. Furthermore, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope sat in the stands as Lewis recorded 15 points, six rebounds and five assists to get the win for his team. Famous basketball page Sports Center NEXT posted highlights of the match as Pope watched Lewis dominate the Owyhee defense:

"Future Kentucky PG Acaden Lewis (no. 27 ESPN 💯) led his team to an early morning win 😼," the post was captioned.

The Quakers' win against the Storm marks their second consecutive victory, following their 54-33 win against Potomac School. Furthermore, they have now won four of their last five matchups with the only loss coming against Bullis on Jan. 11. The Quakers are now on a 9-4 record while Owyhee's loss moved them to a 10-4 record.

The four-star recruit ranks at the fifth spot in the point guard position and first in the District of Columbia. With offers from top programs including Connecticut, Michigan, Florida State and more, Acaden Lewis talked about why chose the Wildcats:

“I chose Kentucky because they made me the greatest priority,” Acaden Lewis told On3. “It really felt like it was just me or nothing. Or like me, or portal, you could say. Coach Pope and his staff have done a really good job of constantly applying pressure to make me feel like I’m the point guard that they need. I love the system.”

Lewis became Pope's third signee from the 2025 Class after taking his official visit to the Wildcats on Oct. 11. Pope talked about Lewis, commending his vision and leadership abilities:

“Acaden Lewis is so much of what you want to find in a great point guard,” Kentucky head coach Mark Pope said. “He has incredible vision. He’s got a beautiful stroke. "
"He can get to the rim and finish, can make every pass, and already understands the probing nature of a point guard. He has this calm, hungry, unemotional demeanor that you look forward to in a leader. I would say he has some Anthony Epps-qualities of being a calm, tough, banner hanging leader that gets us really excited.”

Lewis will join Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno at the Wildcats next season.
