Kiyan Anthony, son of basketball veteran Carmelo Anthony, has quickly made a name for himself. Playing for Long Island Lutheran, the 6-foot-5 small guard has positioned himself as a standout player with the potential to make it big in the basketball world. As a hot prospect, he was chased by at least 21 colleges at one point.

On October 25, he spoke with Tyler Glazier on the "Pro Insight" YouTube channel during the USA Basketball junior minicamp in Colorado. The ace player opened up about his college offers, things he is considering for picking the best program, and what he liked about certain coaches.

At the end of the discussion, Glazier threw an interesting question at the young guard. He asked what hashtag Kiyan Anthony would pick if he had to choose one.

In return, Anthony Junior came up with an answer that truly reflects his playing style.

“I would say, #killorbekilled.”

His reply suggests he loves aggressiveness on the court. The youngster elaborated his point by emphasizing his desire to take charge from the first whistle and continue it till the last. Kiyan wants to be the one initiating every play and never just reacting to others.

“Just because, like, if you're on the court, you don't want to get killed; you want to kill. You want to, you know, initiate everything, so you don't want to be the person that's like on defense, and you know with your hands up, you want to initiate the punch first.”

For Anthony Jr., this fierce approach comes from watching his dad, Carmelo Anthony, play. The 10-time All-Star and top-10 all-time scorer was renowned for his attacking game. Reflecting on that, Kiyan Anthony said:

“So I feel like that would be my motto just because, like, that's just how I was told, like, my dad and stuff, watching him play, always attacking people, no matter who it was, so I feel like that would be my hashtag.”

Kiyan is not just talk; he’s a force on the court, and this is reflected in his performances.

Kiyan Anthony leads from the front against Putnam Science to win co-MVP

Kiyan Anthony is the No. 28-ranked player nationally in the Class of 2025, as per the 247Sports composite ranking. He led his team, the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders, to a stunning last-minute victory against the Putnam Science Mustangs last Saturday. This was during the third annual ACES Hustle & Heart Classic.

Putting up an impressive display of skill and athleticism, he secured 26 points for his team, pushing them to a close 85-83 victory.

Out of the 21 offers he has received, three are still hot, including USC, Syracuse and Auburn. It's still unclear where the 6-foot-5 guard will ultimately choose to play.

However, ON3 predicted that Syracuse has an impressive 84.2% chance of getting Kiyan Anthony onboard.

No matter where he lands through, one thing is certain – Kiyan Anthony’s assertive style will reshape the game, setting a new standard for his future team.
