Three-star quarterback Hezekiah Millender flipped his commitment from Boise State to Georgia's 2025 class on Saturday. He had been committed to the Broncos since August but reconsidered following an aggressive late push from the Bulldogs.
Millender transferred from Arizona to Georgia ahead of his senior season and now plays for Clarke Central High School in Athens. The proximity to Georgia's campus allowed him to immerse himself in the Bulldogs’ culture. He was in attendance during Georgia’s thrilling 44-42, eight-overtime victory against Georgia Tech on Black Friday at Sanford Stadium.
Millender announced his commitment on X, tagging coach Georgia coach Kirby Smart, offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and quarterback assistant Montgomery VanGorder.
"Athens y’all mind if I stay a little longer ? #Committed @KirbySmartUGA @CoachMikeBobo @Coach_Gummy," Millender tweeted.
Speaking to Dawgs247, Millender highlighted the Georgia coaching staff’s role in his decision:
"Man, just the coaches," Millender said on Saturday. "The coaches are the main reason. They definitely welcomed me with open arms for sure. It's just being around them and true they are. It's just how they communicate with me."
The Bulldogs' track record of success in developing elite QBs also earned praise from Millender.
"They produce quarterbacks," Millender told UGASports. "Coach Bobo is a good coach and they have a good quarterbacks room."
Last season as a high school junior, Millender threw for 1,798 yards and 25 touchdowns with a 60.4% completion rate while adding 606 rushing yards and 12 TDs. He also excels as a point guard on the basketball court.
Millender is the No. 55 quarterback in the 2025 class, the No. 104 recruit in Georgia and the No. 896 prospect in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
Georgia Bulldogs' 2025 class update following Hezekiah Millender's commitment
Hezekiah Millender joins four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery in Georgia's 2025 class. Montgomery is rehabbing after tearing his ACL this season.
Georgia is laying the groundwork for its future at QB as Carson Beck is expected to declare for the NFL draft. Its QB situation for next season remains uncertain, with Gunner Stockton and Jaden Rashada as the leading options on the roster.
Georgia has 28 commitments, including 14 top 200 prospects in its 2025 class. It is ranked No. 2 in the nation.
